Where We Shine
Here at St. Peter the Apostle School, we align the Catholic Diocese of Wilmington Curriculum Guidelines with Common Core Curriculum Standards that promote college and career readiness skills that include collaborative conversations, close reading, integration of technology, emphasis on written communication, and problem solving geared to recognizing math in everyday life. The blending of the broader diocesan content and Common Core skillset both enhances and enriches the quality curriculum we provide.

Interactive Science Program
St. Peter the Apostle School offers the Science Fusion program in kindergarten through eighth grade in life, physical, and earth science. Science Fusion is a state of the art science program designed for building inquiry, STEM education, and optimal for learning in the classroom, at home, on a laptop, tablet, or using a science textbook. The digital curriculum, virtual labs and hand-on activities, and write-in science textbook develops important critical thinking skills that prepare students for courses in the future and the workplace.
Interactive Reading Program
The Wonders Reading program is 100% digital for school instruction with smart boards and iPads and independent work with home technology. This interactive program for K-6 includes:
Foundational Phonics Skills (phonics, automaticity, fluency)
Emphasis on Informational Text (80% of what we read as adults)
Differentiated Instruction With Leveled Readers (approaching, at, and beyond grade level)
Group Work Stations To Practice Weekly Skills
Reading-Writing Connection In Every Lesson
At St. Peter the Apostle School, we aspire to meet the expectations of today’s parents who want it all in preschool education. In our full day program, we not only offer traditional experiential play but also an academic kindergarten readiness program consisting of reading, writing, math, and science as well as school skills such as how to sit still, listen attentively, follow directions, and do independent work. The children participate in music, art, physical education, and Spanish once each week. Technology is integrated into the curriculum through the use of smart board technology and iPads.
